Mansion Map Guide — GunZ Stairs & Ambushes

GunZ Mansion map tactics: stair control, ballroom fights, Kodachi duels, and Breaker peek angles.

Mansion Map Guide

Mansion is GunZ elegance turned lethal — wide ballroom floors, spiral staircases, balcony sightlines, and servant corridors where one Breaker burst ends a push. Where Town teaches vertical chaos, Mansion teaches peek discipline and timing. Players who rush without clearing corners die to campers who read audio footsteps on marble.

Use this guide for layout callouts, weapon picks from Weapons, K-Style routes, and comparisons to Dungeon and Arena. Hub: Maps index.

Layout zones

Grand ballroom — open mid-range fights; rifles and SMGs trade across chandeliers.

Main staircase — vertical choke; Breaker pre-fire wins.

Side corridors — Kodachi and Katana duels; Half-Step from Swords guide dominates.

Balconies — elevation for spawn sniping; vulnerable to Wall Cancel flanks from below.

Stair control meta

Hold high ground on stairs with SMG or Breaker — do not peek twice from same angle. Opponents pre-charge shotguns. Use Half-Step to jiggle bait shots before committing slash.

If forced low ground, rotate through servant hall instead of straight push — Mansion rewards flanks.

Breaker peek angles

Swing wide on doorways, not narrow — reduces self damage risk. Pair Breaker with Katana slash cancel from Shotguns page. Audio of footsteps on stairs telegraphs pushes — stop moving before peek.

Weapon tiers on Mansion

Breaker 6 S-tier. Kodachi A-tier in halls. Katana A-tier general. Rifle B-tier in ballroom only. See Tier List and Loadouts Mansion tweaks.

K-Style notes

Butterfly space is limited — shorter dodges, more Half-Step. Wall Cancel on outer walls still escapes ballroom crossfire. Train Advanced K-Style after basics.

Team modes

Clan wars on Mansion emphasize crossfire setup — one player balcony, one stairs, one flank hall. Communicate rotation when Breaker ammo spent.

Solo duel strategy

First blood often wins round — Mansion rounds end fast. Open with safe peek, not sprint across ballroom. Force fights in corridors where you main Kodachi or Katana.

Compared to Town

Town rewards height jumps; Mansion rewards corner knowledge. Learn Town movement first per Town guide, then transfer peek timing here.

Quest appearances

Some Quest variants use Mansion assets — same geometry, add mob spawns. Keep rifle secondary for armored enemies per Quest walkthrough.

Practice plan

10 custom duels focusing stair control. 10 duels servant hall only Kodachi. Review deaths — usually double peek or ballroom cross without cover.

Mansion punishes greed and rewards patience — the map for players who think one engagement ahead.

Chandelier and ballroom lineups

Ballroom fights often orbit the central chandelier pillar — use it as cover while tapping SMG bursts. Opponents circle clockwise by habit; cut counter-clockwise with Half-Step to force awkward reload windows. Rifle players should avoid full commit across marble — chip damage then rotate to stairs.

Sound discipline

Marble footsteps carry — sprinting telegraphs pushes three seconds early. Walk before peeking Breaker angles. This audio rule applies doubly when dueling Kodachi users from Swords guide who listen for panic sprints.

Scrim preparation

Before clan scrims on Mansion, run 5 minutes Training Room Half-Step drills, then custom 2v2 on side corridors only. Full ballroom opens after corner confidence is warm. Review Weapons Tier List Mansion notes with your roster.

Duel pacing versus Town

Mansion rounds end faster than Town marathons — treat each life as a set piece, not a prolonged chase. Reset mental stack between spawns: identify which corridor opponent favors, pre-aim that angle for one Breaker burst, then disengage with Butterfly toward servant hall.

Weapon swap stations mentally

Mark mental “swap zones” at ballroom doors and stair landings — places where you always have Breaker ready before peek. Pair with Shotguns guide muscle memory so swaps never happen in open marble center.
